The greatest threat to the safety of tourists are Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, Iraq, which are located in the Middle East region. The Travel Risk Map 2019 shows the level of risk for tourists in each country and territory, depending on the current internal situation, which is assessed according to several criteria: the threat of terrorism or insurrection; politically motivated riots and conflicts; social unrest, including religious or ethnic crime and petty criminal offenses. The Travel Risk Map of the year has five risk categories: minor, low, medium, high, and extreme. The first includes such European countries as Luxembourg, Denmark, Switzerland, Norway, Finland, as well as the Seychelles and Cape Verde. Iran, Jordan, Oman, Qatar, Canada, the United States, Australia and New Zealand are classified as low risk. Experts have identified the hazard level for tourists in countries such as Russia, Ukraine, Brazil, Algeria and India as medium.
