Experts from Roskachestvo told about the secrets of choosing mandarins, writes the news portal Interfax. According to the agency, about 70 varieties of the New Year’s fruit are sold in Russia, each of which differs in taste, color and texture. First of all, it is worth noting the seedless varieties: these are Chinese-Japanese shivamikan tangerines, satsuma, which have a sweet-sour taste and are not large in size. More sweet, large and easy to clean is a kind of nadorkot, but Murcott is the sweetest and most “bony”. The best option mandarin, mandarin and orange hybrid, is a Clementine variety. Moderately large, flattened above and below, juicy orange, sweet and odorous. These are the tangerines sold in Russia since October. Of course, when buying a winter citrus one should pay attention not only to its variety, but also to the absence of external defects. Mandarins must be free from rot, visible damage and mold. Paying attention to green leaves is not necessary: it is not an indicator of freshness, but a beautiful lure for buyers.
