Traditions to lay out colorful and colorful eggs did not appear after the appearance of the first "real" ancestors of birds, and even among feathered dinosaurs, RIA Novosti reports with reference to a statement by scientists in an article in the journal Nature. This discovery radically changes all ideas about the evolution of eggs. For almost two centuries, ornithologists believed that the different lines of the ancestors of modern birds “invented” this form of protecting their descendants several times independently of each other. Now the scientific community suggests that it appeared at about the same time as dinosaurs began to hatch with eggs. Until recently, scientists have known only a few examples of fossilized dinosaur eggs and fragments of their shells. Over the past 20 years, the picture has changed dramatically - paleontologists have found several "egg cemeteries" in northern China and in the Mongolian part of the Gobi desert and dozens of eggs of the largest dinosaurs on Earth in Argentina.
