The monument to Ivan Turgenev was solemnly opened today in Krasnodar, its installation was timed to the 200th anniversary of the great Russian writer, Interfax reports with reference to the press service of the city administration. A composition of two statues appeared on the street of the same name. The bronze monument became the decoration of the alley of the residential complex, which was built on the site of the former industrial zone. The author of the monument, sculptor Mihran Harutyunyan, presented the writer to the rest on the bench. At the feet of the writer is his favorite dog, an obedient and polite Bubulka. Ivan Turgenev was born on November 9, 1818 in Orel, and died on September 3, 1883 in Bougival, a suburb of Paris.
