The founder of Aviasales, the largest ticket search service, Konstantin Kalinov passed away on Tuesday 26 December. The cause of Kalinov's death was a severe and prolonged illness, which he described about a year ago.
The search engine began as a personal blog of Constantine in 2007, later a team of programmers joined it, and in 2010 the company's office was moved from St. Petersburg to the island of Phuket (Thailand), in 2012 the service launched its own application, which two later days became the best in the AppStore, in the travel category.
The current monthly audience of the service is estimated at 7 million people.
The National Tourist Union expresses condolences to Konstantin's family and friends.
