After Japan, according to the level of popularity, travelers to the kingdom are followed by China, Singapore and South Korea. Australia, the Maldives, the USA, New Zealand and Taiwan are still new destinations for Thai tourists, but their popularity is increasing. The study of Visa Global Travel Intentions 2017 examined global trends and behavior of 17,500 travelers from 27 countries. As a result, it turned out that, although people travel more, the duration of trips becomes shorter. The average length of stay of Thai travelers abroad is five nights per trip. Almost half of Thai people use roaming abroad. The tourism industry in Thailand in 2017 was 18-19% of GDP. This year, an increase in inbound tourism is expected to increase by 7.4%. Thailand is one of the most popular destinations among travelers from all over the world, including from the Asia-Pacific region. But also outbound tourism is developing: more and more Thai travelers now use the latest technological developments to plan their trips and find their destinations.
