In the village Turka of the Baikal region of Buryatia at the “Baikal Harbor” from 30 to 31 March was held XIV “Baikal fishing”. The contest involves identifying the team with the largest ice catch. This year 225 teams from different regions of Russia, as well as China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and the EU countries gathered to compete for the main prize - Renault Kaptyur. The winners were team from the Khabarovsk region. “Fishing is a wonderful event, philosophy, uniting with nature, rest and communication with friends. “Baikal fishing” grows with the number of participants every year. This is a wonderful event and an incentive for the development of tourism, a good reason to recharge with the energy of spring, the blossoming of nature, I wish that the whole year went well,” said the head of Buryatia Alexey Tsydenov, who took part in the event. The festival has been held since 2005. In 2014 “Baikal fishing” was listed in the book of records of Russia as “the most massive ice fishing”.
