The UNWTO World Tourism Organization, with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO), has launched a competition for entrepreneurs and startups to save the tourism industry from the effects of coronavirus, you can apply for participation until April 15.
“The Healing Solutions Competition encourages participants to look for new ways and solutions in the areas of healthcare, economics and social policy that will help the tourism sector recover from coronavirus. New innovative ways to restore tourism will be important. The most interesting ideas will be realized, ”writes UNWTO.
According to the organization, applications for participation in Healing Solutions can be submitted before April 15, finalists will be announced on April 25. Participants should not only present their ideas for the restoration of tourism after the coronavirus, but also provide the jury with a detailed business plan and show the potential for implementation in several countries at once.
Participants can offer their ways of tourism rehabilitation in one of three categories. Social - solutions focused on the safety measures of tourists, which should be applied in the future not only by the travelers themselves, but also by travel agents, tour operators, hoteliers. Economic - solutions based on digital applications for the travel industry, investments and methods of revenue management. “Restoration of tourist destinations” - decisions on the withdrawal from the crisis of the most popular and interesting tourist destinations, their rebranding.
According to UNWTO, the winners of Healing Solutions will be able to present their ideas to the leadership of more than 150 countries, as well as gain access to the UNWTO Innovation Network, which includes hundreds of start-up and leading companies in tourism.
