Amsterdam authorities are planning to evict female sex workers from the famous red light district in the city center, reports RIA Novosti with reference to the Guardian newspaper. Femke Halsema, the first woman to lead the largest city in the Netherlands, Amsterdam, intends to launch this initiative in 2019. The package of measures will include the issuance of permits for prostitution outside the historic center of the city. The group of tourists in the De Wallen quarter is one of the reasons why the mayor’s office seeks to resettle this area. Already, the mayor is forced to temporarily ban the work of these institutions, so that utilities have the opportunity to remove the garbage here.
